Attorney Profile

For more than four decades, Stan Samorajczyk has worked with business and government clients on cases involving national and cross-border restructuring, reorganization, business bankruptcy, insolvency and creditor’s rights.

His clients get the value of his vast legal and business expertise and, at the same time, receive individually crafted solutions to their challenges. One of his trademarks is his keen interest in getting to know each of his clients personally to better understand their business and goals for the future.

Prior to opening his own practice, Mr. Samorajczyk positions included:

  • Practice Manager for Hazel & Thomas (Washington, D.C.)

Mr. Samorajczyk has lectured nationally and internationally and has organized and led Continuing Legal Education classes and seminars on business reorganization. He is Fellow and former Regent of the American College of Bankruptcy and co-founder and co-chair of the Mid-Atlantic Institute on Bankruptcy and Reorganization Practice.

  • Reorganizing a leading commercial mortgage REIT
  • Representing an Examiner and major creditors in airline reorganization cases
  • Representing numerous lenders’ and creditors’ committees
  • Serving as Trustee in large business cases, including a trust with assets of more than $850 million engaged in residential and commercial real estate development and related services and as a Chapter 11 Trustee in the Restoration of historic Carter's Grove (Williamsburg, VA)
  • Serving as an expert witness on business bankruptcy and reorganization
  • Reorganizing the billion dollar U.S. subsidiary of Japan’s largest trading company
  • Representing a foreign government in connection with a major transportation project
